Major Duties:

  • Perform a variety of assessments, evaluations, studies, or analyses of program operations to document efficiency, effectiveness, and economy of operations.
  • Manage all criminal investigation and directs preliminary, follow-up, and final investigation to assure investigations are concluded.
  • Make determinations on program needs and implements required enhancements based on findings.
  • Develop and direct anti-terrorism survey and inspections in accordance with laws, regulations, agency directives/policies.
  • Negotiate with parties on matters concerning border and proprietary jurisdiction issues and employee development and training collaborations.
  • Perform the full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties.

Qualifications: To qualify for the Supervisory Security Specialist (Chief of Police), PG -0080-14, you must meet the following requirements: To qualify for the PG-14 level, you must possess 52 weeks of specialized experience at the PG-13 (or equivalent) level or higher. Specialized experience is defined as experience: Provide leadership and direction in the development, refinement, coordination, and implementation of plans, directives, post orders, specifications and procedural guidance. Oversee all operational aspects of law enforcement activities (traditional and non-traditional). Formulate policies, procedures and determinations (of security policies), develop and manage assessment programs for police officers and special police officers. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
