Job Summary: About the Position: This position is assigned to the US Army Garrison, Directorate of Emergency Services, Department of the Army Security Guard (DASG) Division. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Major Duties:

  • Using subordinate supervisors and work leaders, oversees and directs the work of the Branch.
  • Assure that subordinate supervisors actively support the provisions and goals of various personnel and employee relations programs, such as equal opportunity, merit promotion plans, counseling services, performance appraisals, sick leave plan, etc.
  • Assisting in the interpretation and implementation of directives from higher authorities.
  • Oversee development/implementation of training plans/special training necessitated by fielding new technology/devices used to scan identification/documents, detect explosives and other hazardous chemicals and identify the contents/cargo of vehicles.
  • Initiate security and operational memoranda for compliance of rules, regulations, standards, and procedures.
  • Inform the Chief of the Protection Division or Director of Operations of any incidents at access control points or actions by guard force personnel which would result in public interest.

Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, such as: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service: assigning work in terms of organizational objectives, assignments, set priorities, and deadlines to subordinate employees; performing managerial and administrative duties relating to the security guard force; developing manning and budget requirements for Guard operations; and overseeing the protection of government and personal property, control of access of personnel and vehicles to the installation, support of the implementation of emergency plans, and patrolling of restricted and limited access areas.
