Job Summary: About the position: This position is located at the Aquatic Center, Ramstein AB, Germany. Organize, promote, and schedule daily activities to address differing needs of the base populace. Supervise lifeguards as they execute duties and responsibilities and provides assistance and guidance. This position may offer logistical support.

Major Duties:

Supervise lifeguards as they execute duties and responsibilities, and provides assistance and guidance. Observe the condition and behavior of swimmers and program participants to ascertain any potential problems. Enforce safety rules and regulations. Foster good relationships with patrons. Instruct, caution, and/or expel patrons as appropriate. Resolve difficult problems and report incents to director. Answer questions on procedures, policies and directives. Obtain needed information or decision from director on duty-related problems. Instruct lifeguards with specific tasks, procedures and techniques while ensuring timely accomplishment to work assignments. Ensure compliance with MOA provision. Lead and participate in required in-service training. Maintain currency, capability and certification to perform lifesaving water rescue, First Aid and CPR. Notify emergency medical services and/or other appropriate personnel for more serious accidents/injuries. Use equipment such as first aid kits, ring buoys, shepherds crook and backboards. Ensure all MOA employees maintain certification in lifesavings, cater rescue and First Aid/CPR IAW American Red Cross and AF proper guidelines and safety zones through coordination with the CE Water Well Office. Assist in cleaning assigned areas (e.g. bathrooms, pool/pool decks, locker rooms, showers, gutters, etc.) according to establish schedules and instructions. Verify customers are authorized to use facility by checking appropriate identification. Work may involve long periods of exposure to chlorinated water. Employee may be required to provide Lifeguard and laymen's First Aid/CPR/AED training to various ODR facilities. Employee may be designated as a Government Purchase Card and/or NAF Purchase Card holder. Employee may perform duties as the acting facility director in the directors' absence. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have a general familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs. In addition must have experience in an activity involving supervision of others. Must have lifeguard experience. Must possess of a current and valid nationally recognized lifeguard certification, covering lifesaving and water rescue methods, skills and procedures. Must be able to obtain a lifeguard instructor certification within 12 months of hire. Applicant must possess current and valid nationally recognized basic First Aid and CPR certifications. CPR certifications must include adult, child and infant procedures. Some physical exertion is required in a swimming rescue, must be able to lift over 45 pounds. Applicant must be able to work shifts on evenings, weekends and holidays. Requires satisfactory completion of all required security checks.
