Job Summary: You will serve as a SUPERVISORY QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the Product Quality Assurance Division of SUPSHIP GULF COAST.

Major Duties:

  • You will provide a high level of expertise and creativity for the solution of complex Shipbuilding Quality Assurance problems involving multiple new construction contracts for naval ships and vessels.
  • You will supervise the reviews and evaluations of contractor's condition reports and recommendations for additional work and provides rational for approval or disapproval.
  • You will administer the development of surveillance plans, accept/reject criteria, and sampling plans, for shipbuilding Productions of Quality Assurance problems.
  • You will establish and maintain a corrective action system for all assigned Shipbuilding Quality Assurance actions.
  • You will supervise the development, review, and negotiations for modifications to original specification and new construction specifications for work to be accomplished by the contractor.
  • You will investigate quality problems and recommend corrective action.
  • You will monitor the execution of the Ship Construction Test Program as specified in the pertinent shipbuilding specifications.
  • You will coordinate the review of all final test reports and provide timely response to the shipbuilder.
  • You will assure compliance with specifications, standards and contract requirements.
  • You will perform liaison functions with other SUPSHIP departments, the Waterfront Operations Manager, the Project Manager, and the Quality Assurance officer.
  • You will guide, motivate, and oversee the activities of individuals and teams.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting quality assurance inspections, assessments, surveillances or audits on shipbuilding construction, maintenance, repair, or testing operations.
