Job Summary: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Strategy, Policy, and Plans; Executive Secretariat. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Director of the PLCY Executive Secretariat (ExecSec). Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: Specialized Experience: You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government. For this position, specialized experience is defined as: Developing and managing executive secretariat functions to develop, coordinate, and finalize written products for senior level executive officials within an organization; Rewriting submissions to organize, ensure clarity and accuracy; and applying a consistent sense of style and grammar to finished products; Managing the composition, assignment, and finalization of written materials, including policy memoranda, executive correspondence, briefing materials, reports, testimony, and Questions for the Record (QFRs); AND Determining the overall length, organization, and tone of policy documents based on the purpose of the document, the medium, and the audience and ensuring that all content reflects Administration policy positions. (NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible.) Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
