Job Summary: About the Position: This position is located at Naval Branch Health Clinic Memphis, Dir of Clinical Support. Serves as the MTF expert on pharmaceuticals, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacotherapeutics. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation utilizing DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Major Duties:

  • Recommends which items will be stocked based on their effectiveness, economy, and appropriateness for the intended use.
  • Serves on a variety of committees, boards, and other bodies representing the pharmacy specialty and providing authoritative input on pharmacy related matters.
  • Provides pharmacoeconomic support i.e., cost studies, formulary, adjustments, and development of institutional therapeutic plans.
  • Prepares and conducts or oversees training of physicians, pharmacists, and other health care providers on the use of drugs and other pharmaceuticals.
  • Designs and conducts studies intended to evaluate particular drugs, their effectiveness and suitability, or to study the reaction of diseases, patients, and conditions to drug based treatment reviews.
  • Plans and revises work schedules and assignments to assure an even flow and distribution of work, the expeditious handling of priorities, that schedules and deadlines are met and to meet changes in workload.
  • Keeps employees informed of management goals and objectives and higher, level supervisors informed of employee concerns.

Basic Requirement for Supervisory Pharmacist: Education: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirement above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0660 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status. Licensure: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, a territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Medical Requirement: Must be able to distinguish basic colors. In addition to meeting the basic requirements above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Experience: One year of professional pharmacy experience which includes overseeing pharmacy functions within a medical clinic, establishing overall work to be accomplished; and providing training or oversight to pharmacy staff. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
