Job Summary: You will serve as a SUPERVISORY NUCLEAR ENGINEER in the Guam Detachment Naval Shipyard of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Major Duties:

  • You will provide administrative and technical supervision to three GS-12 Nuclear Shift Test Engineers.
  • You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates commensurate with their skill and abilities, setting and adjusting priorities for the subordinates, and preparing schedules to ensure timely completion of the work with the required quality.
  • You will maintain actual personal knowledge of the day-to-day progress and conditions of all reactor plant systems, operations, and tests that affect the reactor plant.
  • You will development of a detailed daily test planning document: Test Plan of the Day (TPOD) and plant condition memos.
  • You will monitor the progress of test preparations and accomplishment and providing technical assistance when necessary to resolve problems.
  • You will schedule, review, monitor, and revise a variety of tests on all reactor plant systems.
  • You will direct the activities of waterfront administration and planning groups to support planned operations, ensuring efficient productive use of all resources.
  • You will ensure that all prerequisites (Test Preparations) are ready and will support testing prior to the scheduling of a test.

Qualifications: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Candidate must have extensive experience as a Shift Test Supervisor and must be a currently qualified Shift Test Engineer. Candidate must have significant experience in work controls, retest, and systems testing.
