Job Summary: As a Supervisory Mechanical Engineer, you will provide direct supervision for Branch employees in the Engineering Section Unit 1. Location of position: GSA, Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Office of General Supplies and Service Categories, Supply Chain Operations Division, Engineering Section. San Francisco, CA; Lakewood, CO; Washington, DC; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; Kansas City, MO; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Fort Worth, TX and/or Tacoma, WA.

The GS-14 salary range starts at $127,829.00 per year. Salary is dependent upon duty location. BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ENGINEERS: A Degree in professional engineering OR a combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the Basic Requirements listed above, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience serving as a mechanical engineer leading multi-disciplinary engineering projects from inception to completion. Experience must include: Developing technical contract support documents (e.g., Product Descriptions (PD's), Commercial Item Descriptions (CID's), and/or Item Purchase Descriptions (IPD's)) for the acquisition of engineering commodities; Providing engineering guidance to key stakeholders in coordination with laws, policies, regulations and/or other mechanical engineering principles/operating guidelines; AND Preparing engineering reports to resolve product and/or compliance inquiries.
