Salary Range: $55000 - $67000 Per Year

Job Summary: This position is located at JBLM Libraries. Regular Full -Time positions are guaranteed 40 hours per work week and are eligible for all Army NAF benefits. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

Major Duties:

  • Performs a wide variety of public service duties (e.g. circulation, interlibrary loans, etc.); technical service duties (e.g. cataloging, acquiring and de-acquisitioning of library materials, etc.); and systems application and maintenance.
  • Performs selected administrative management duties to include ensuring internal controls are in place in public services and/or technical services. May manage a branch library.
  • Trains others in the performance of library technician duties, plans work and sets priorities to improve production and increase quality.
  • Performs the full range of supervisory duties, including recommending recruitment or reassignment actions, conducts performance appraisals and submits for approval by the manager.
  • Initiates or recommends disciplinary actions; initiates recommendation for awards and pay adjustments, recommends employee development and training programs, work schedules, etc. Performs other duties as assigned.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: - One year of work experience that equipped the applicant with practical knowledge of library or related information services, tools, and methods and procedures. Experience must have been gained at the next lower level. - One year of supervisory experience required. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": - Possess 4 or more years of library experience, preferably at an MWR Library - Possess work experience in an administrative position
