Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) T32, Position Description Number PDD2173P01 and is part of the AZ 161st Air Refueling Wing, National Guard.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: Military Grades: MSgt/E7 - SMSgt/E8 Compatible Military Assignments: Possess the AFSC of 1D77X SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. The employing agency is responsible for defining the specialized experience based on the requirements of the position being filled. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. MAJOR DUTIES (Condensed) :1. Information Technology Planning: Analyzes requirements and establishes plans of action for improving IT applications. Analyzes existing and planned IT applications, both hardware and software, to determine current and future potential for enhancements. 2. Telecommunications Planning: Plans and develops methods, procedures, policies, and techniques concerning telecommunication systems. 3. General IT and Communications Planning and Resourcing: Implements IT and communications programs and special projects. 4. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. 5. Adheres to management control plan requirements by conducting self inspection and staff assistance visits. Resolves identified discrepancies. 6. Performs other duties as assigned. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
