Salary Range: $146481 - $195200 Per Year

Job Summary: You will serve as a Deputy Director, Counterintelligence and Counterterrorism Division. You will supervise Special Agents serving at field offices, provide advice and assistance on operational and other matters, engage in National-level liaison with other counterintelligence and counterterrorism entities, ensure the Division policy document and operating instructions are up to date and accurate, and provide counterintelligence services to HQ NASA personnel.

Major Duties:

  • Supervise geographically dispersed NASA Counterintelligence Special Agents at Center NASA Counterintelligence Offices.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners on National Security inquiries and investigations.
  • Provide defensive counterintelligence and counterterrorism services to personnel assigned to HQ NASA to include foreign travel briefings, foreign visitor escort briefings, specialized counterintelligence briefings to individuals and programs.
  • Review entries into the NASA Counterintelligence Management System, Monthly Activity Reports and other reporting for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide advice and assistance, as required, to other Office of Protective Services entities such as the Insider Threat Program, the Operational Security Program and Personnel Security Program.
  • Review educational and awareness materials such as program briefings, threat awareness presentations, newsletters, posters, etc., for accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct program management reviews of field offices to ensure the mission is being executed in accordance with regulations and other guidance. Meet with Center Directors and other key customers to evaluate the effectiveness of the Office.
  • Engage with national level task forces and Counterintelligence entities to include the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
  • Perform a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.

Qualifications: Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level: Advising senior leaders on counterintelligence and counterterrorism threats to NASA in order to develop mitigation strategies; Ensuring the NASA counterintelligence and counterterrorism mission is executed in accordance with policy guidance, operational instructions and performance plans; and Conducting counterintelligence and counterterrorism inquires and investigations to identify and mitigate threats posed by foreign intelligence services and terrorist organizations.
