Job Summary: The incumbent serves as the Inspector General (IG) of the DWIA, with responsibility for ensuring that the Director, DWIA receives accurate and complete information on all issues and programs involving the identification and elimination of fraud,waste, abuse, and mismanagement with DWIA, and coordinating with other DoW Components, Departments and agencies of the government performing related functions for the exchange of information related to assigned functions and responsibilities.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service: Experience leading teams in complex investigations related to fraud, waste, and abuse, while also serving as a principal advisor to senior executives on oversight matters and recommending corrective actions. Responsible for developing or implementing policies for audit, inspection, or hotline programs, and represents the organization with external oversight bodies like the GAO or DoW IG. Additionally, the position includes exercising first-level supervision over a team of senior-level professionals. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
