Salary Range: $119355 - $155164 Per Year

Job Summary: You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (NETWORK SERVICES) in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND CYBER SECURITY OFFICE (CODE 109.12) of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Major Duties:

  • You will manage staff level and work assignments to effectively assign work to subordinates based on priorities.
  • You will supervise 10-12 GS-12 IT specialists and 2-3 GS-11 IT specialists.
  • You will be a spokesperson for the shipyard on matters related to coordinating, monitoring, and advising shipyard servers pertaining to the Shipyard server plan.
  • You will develop and revise long-range plan for Shipyard data centers.
  • You will participate in the development of the IT budget.
  • You will conduct risk and vulnerability assessments on planned and installed IT systems.
  • You will be expected to travel and must be able to obtain and maintain a Government issued Credit Card.
  • You will perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience working with IT guides, procedures, regulations and precedents to enable employees to independently interpret or adapt the same to new or unique situations. Experience in managing large and complex projects, developing and presenting on project status, and working with cost analysis. Experience working with computer hardware, software, and support services required to establish and maintain a computer system. Experience in applying capital investment planning principles and methods. Experience working with information assurance systems, security concepts, standards, and methods to develop and interpret policies. ________________________________________ and _____________________________________ Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.IT-related experience must demonstrate each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Collaborating internally and externally with clients and staff to resolve technical issues, ensure compliance with federal standards, and support shared services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Expressing information details of new or changing IT initiatives to other departments to ensure they are fully appraised of potential impact to or improvement to capabilities in performing mission critical work. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Researching, evaluating, and providing recommendations for improvement on problematic trends and patterns.
