Qualifications: Basic Requirement: Information Technology (IT) related experience, obtained through paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, demonstrating each of the following competences: Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work until provides, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and respond appropriately. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must meet basic qualifications by demonstrating at least (1) one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector. Specialized experience is performing duties such as using information technology concepts, methods, standards and practices to evaluate and resolve hardware and software problems; planning and improving information systems to meet the needs of customer requirements; planning and scheduling the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems and applications software; monitoring functionality, security and integrity of internet services; assessing IT policy needs; establishing metrics to measure, and evaluate system performance; troubleshooting end user computer hardware and software issues; maintaining systems accounts with various enterprise software programs; providing for customer training including orientation of new users; maintenance of server and LAN/WAN activities; maintenance and troubleshooting of network problems in various office locations. Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP): The CTAP provides eligible surplus and displaced competitive service employees in the Department of Justice with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
