Job Summary: You will serve as a Supervisory Industrial Specialist (Shipbuilding) of FWD DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET ROTA, Spain.

Major Duties:

  • You will administer work orders for the repair and modernization of naval vessels from advance planning through production completion and associated testing; coordinates planning and estimating, design specification preparation, and scheduling.
  • You will review specifications to ensure completeness and conformance to authorized work.
  • You will assign work items/specifications for development and/or tracking and schedules the work of subordinate Maintenance Team members.
  • You will conduct safety inspections, maintain a significant events log, and provide written reports as directed.
  • You will evaluate all Technical Analysis Reports (TAR) and supports the Contracting Officer in contract negotiations.
  • You will perform duties as a Contractor Representative (COR) when designated by the Contracting Officer, ensuring adherence to all contractual items during ships availability.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Understanding how the mechanical and electrical system on the ship must operate independently and be integrated into the final overall test/inspection of the ship; 2) Managing complex systems aboard naval vessels and possessing the ability to coordinate work of all activities (i.e. private contractors, ship's force, AITs, etc.) to ensure systems are repaired in a timely manner; 3) Reviewing funds and accounting procedures promulgated by Navy Comptroller (NAVCOMPT) manuals to avoid misappropriation of funds; 4) Evaluating technical and complex problem areas that occur in the ship repair; and 5) Using automated information systems concepts, system capabilities and economic usage to effectively complete assignments.
