Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a Supervisory General Supply Specialist, Position Description Number D1956000 and is part of the 116th LRS, Robins AFB, Georgia. This is a full-time, Permanent Excepted dual status position which requires Georgia Air National Guard Membership. Area of Consideration: Current members of the Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve or an Air Force Active Duty component.
Major Duties:
- As a Supervisory General Supply Specialist, GS-2001-11, you will: Develop goals and objectives that integrate organizational, supply, transportation and fuels objectives. Establish, review, and revise policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary, to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment. Promote team building, implement quality improvements, and respond to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements. Provide technical and administrative supervision to subordinate personnel. Establish priorities based on attainment of goals, objectives and work to be accomplished. Assign work to achieve maximum economy, effectiveness, skill utilization, and employee motivation. Make assignments based on priorities and the difficulty and requirements of the assignment. Interview candidates for positions in the flight; recommend appointment, promotion, or reassignment of subordinate personnel. Monitor and evaluate employee performance. Assist employees in reaching performance goals. Inform subordinates of agency policies and programs. Hear and resolve complaints from employees, referring grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher level supervisor or manager. Effect minor disciplinary measures such as warnings and reprimands and recommend other action in more serious cases. Identify developmental and training needs of subordinates and provide and/or arrange for needed development and training. Approve and/or disapprove leave requests. Implement, promote, and effectively support equal opportunity for all personnel and follow provisions of labor agreements and applicable directives pertaining to personnel management. Promote acceptance and adherence of special emphasis programs. Maintain an effective position management program. Delegate responsibility and authority to subordinates. Provide advice, counsel, and instruction on work and administrative matters. Provide guidance and policy direction in supply and equipment support for all assigned units. Develop plans, programs, and policies for the operation, management, and administration of current and projected organizational programs. Provide guidance in establishing local procedures and/or control not specifically provided for by higher headquarters to include developing and publishing major command options to USAF manuals and regulations. Direct development of local supplements and operating instructions and updates as required. Responsible for the implementation of supply computer operations and programs. Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with other flights, supported organizations, and higher headquarters. Advise the Logistics Readiness Squadron Commander on available resources of personnel, equipment and funds to maintain maximum mission effectiveness. Assist in formulating policies, concepts, and procedures to ensure that an effective LRS operation is maintained using personnel, equipment, and funding to support the mission. Direct the internal surveillance program to scrutinize the operations of all Logistics Readiness Squadron functions to ensure compliance. Obtain, study, and analyze programming work assignment and workload documents. Monitor and review the monthly inventory document for excessive gains/losses and initiate appropriate action as required. Provide management oversight of the Logistics Readiness Squadron training program to ensure the effectiveness of the squadron enlisted on-the-job-training programs. Responsible for the oversight of squadron readiness and ensure reporting accuracy for logistical inputs for the Status of Resources and Training System (SORTS), Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS), and Air Expeditionary Force (AEF) Readiness Tool (ART) reports. Maintain a working knowledge of functional manpower requirements and documents, manning levels, and work with respective flight leadership to address staffing concerns. Ensure coordination with the Global Logistics Support Center and Major Command (MAJCOM) funds managers on the preparation and submission of the General Support Division operating budget. Comply with policy and procedures in the management of stock funds. Analyze appropriate supply reports and financial data to provide the Logistics Readiness Squadron Commander with reports of actual stock fund operations as compared to what was programmed and budgeted. Advise the Logistics Readiness Squadron Commander on the status of operations and maintenance (O & M) and stock fund availability. Function as an advisor to unit commanders, customers, and Financial Management in the interpretation and use of data produced by the Standard Base Supply System (SBSS) for management and budget purposes. Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience using computer and automation systems SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 12 months experience, education, or training in researching documents or other resources to coordinate inventory requirements. Knowledge of stock levels, inventory, shipping, receiving, requisitioning and requirements of supplies and equipment. Experience involving the control of supply stocks and accounting for equipment. Knowledge of supply management, cataloging, maintenance and disposal procedures. Experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc.
