Major Duties:

  • You will lead and supervise multidisciplinary engineering work, managing teams across two or more engineering fields and ensuring high-quality technical output.
  • You will serve as a nationally recognized expert, overseeing advanced system/equipment development, acquisition, and application of complex engineering theories and methods.
  • You will identify and implement technical solutions, independently assessing risks, resolving complex engineering challenges, and ensuring accuracy and reliability across program areas.
  • You will provide authoritative technical guidance, advising senior leaders and engineers on critical issues, conducting pioneering research, and maintaining expertise in cutting-edge technologies.
  • You will manage program resources and operations, including budget planning, project oversight, stakeholder coordination, and full supervisory responsibilities such as assigning work, evaluating performance, and supporting staff development.

Qualifications: In addition to the basic education requirement, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialist experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Professional engineering experience in managing projects, budgets, and staff performance, while providing expert guidance to senior leaders on technical issues and complex systems and equipment development.
