Job Summary: You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIRERIGHTER in the Fire and Emergency Services of NAVAL SUBMARINE BASE NEW LONDON.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: Outside applicants claiming VEOA or VRA (i.e., those without current or prior Federal competitive or excepted service): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department or brigade, 2) Developing, implementing, or providing training in fire protection and prevention, 3) Operating a variety of firefighter vehicles, apparatuses and equipment, and 4) Providing hazardous material incident response. NOTE: All experience must be demonstrated in your resume. Applicants who are current or prior Federal competitive or excepted service employees: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department or brigade; 2) Operating a variety of firefighter vehicles, apparatuses or equipment; 3) Initiating established medical protocols to perform basic life support and performing non-invasive emergency medical procedures. NOTE: All experience must be demonstrated in your resume. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I & II, Fire Officer I & II, Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I, Driver Operator Pumper, Driver Operator Aerial, National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians- EMT, HAZMAT Awareness, HAZMAT Operations, HAZMAT Technician, and Hazardous Materials Incident Commander. These certifications must have been awarded by National Registry, DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement.
