Job Summary: This position is the Supervisory Clinical Nurse (Chief Nurse Executive) located at the New Sunrise Regional Treatment Center located on the Pueblo of Acoma. The purpose of this position is to implement and evaluate the nursing programs in a residential drug and alcohol treatment facility. The incumbent reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Major Duties:
Qualifications: To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Education: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (external link) is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools. Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination(external link). In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Basic Requirements for the GS-12 (or equivalent) Grade Level: In addition to the mandatory license and education described above under Basic Requirements applicants must have at least one or more full years of professional nursing experience that is equivalent to the next lower grade level. Professional nursing experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-12): Oversees a nursing division in an operating health care facility; management ability to delegate authority; formulates and implements nursing services in accordance with existing requirements, methods and procedures; conducts meetings and conferences with subordinate supervisors and staff; provides leadership and direction to nursing programs ensuring proper health care management, evidence based practice, safe and quality patient care; establishes and maintains compliance with various regulatory accreditations, professional agencies, administrative policies and procedures, laws, regulations, standards and directives that are applicable to the organization; maintains positive partnerships with community, tribal, and educational programs and institutions; and ensures accountability to the governing board.
