Position Overview
The Supervisor is responsible for supporting the daily execution and oversight of SMA Wire production activities. This is a hands-on leadership role. The Supervisor is expected to actively support production operations by working on the line as needed, in addition to their leadership responsibilities. This role ensures that team members are aligned with production goals, trained in procedures, and operate in compliance with safety and quality standards. The Supervisor acts as a liaison between frontline staff and management, helping to drive performance, resolve issues, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
This is a weekend night shift position. Working hours are 6:00 am - 6:30 pm, Friday - Sunday. This position is eligible for additional shift differential pay.
Responsibilities
Lead and support production daily activities of SMA Wire Technicians
Ensure team adherence to standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
Provide on-the-floor guidance, coaching, feedback, and troubleshooting support to team members.
Provide timely performance feedback to personnel and are responsible for delivering performance appraisals.
Promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with cGMP and FDA regulations.
Monitor workflow and production output to ensure alignment with daily and weekly build plans and targets.
Onboard and train new employees to operate automated wire drawing equipment including setup, repair, fault clearing, mechanical inspection and autonomous maintenance
Coordinate with the Production Manager and other cross functional teams as needed to escalate equipment issues, material shortages, quality concerns, or employee relations concerns.
Support inventory control processes including cycle counts, material transactions, and reconciliation.
Support timely Work Order creation, posting, and release using SAP.
Support PM activities, ticket closure, and other preventative maintenance activities as needed.
Ensure proper documentation of production data, part counts, and material movements using Arena, SAP and File maker.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team-based problem-solving activities.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.
Required Skills and Competencies
Good understanding of English with the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead by example and foster team collaboration.
Mechanical Aptitude - Knowledge of and experience with automated machines and tools, including design, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, QMS, and ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft 365, Arena, and SAP).
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 2-3 years in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in medical device or electronics assembly.
Preferred Education and Experience
Associate Degree in Production Management
Two years in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in medical device or electronics assembly.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Frequently standing, walking, reaching above shoulders and below waist.
Ability to operate pallet jacks and other basic material handling equipment.

The position is working on-site at our Acton, MA location.
