The Role

Legends Global the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities and live events, has an excellent opening for the Security Supervisor at The PR Convention Center. The Security Supervisor is responsible for providing oversight and supervision to security personnel and shift leads, and is responsible for implementing, maintaining and updating security policies, programs and procedures designed to protect the physical assets of Puerto Rico Convention Center and Antiguo Casino Building, and to provide a safe and secure environment for all PRCC guests, tenants, employees, vendors and contractors.

Essential Duties

  • Respond to all security needs and calls for services & safety related calls in a timely manner, work Security and local law enforcement as necessary
  • Train, counsel, discipline, evaluate and supervise Security personnel in accordance with the ASM Security Department’s philosophy and policies
  • Review existing policies and measures and update according to City and Corporate regulations.
  • Initiate and organize OSHA training of employees and associates
  • Work with operations leadership to address and resolve issues to determine if escalation is needed
  • Manage the hours of all Security Officers and Supervisors in the department, including 24 hour Security staff and event Security staff
  • Enforce and uphold integrity of PRCC’s property and facilities during events and on a continuous 24 hour basis.
  • Write reports; report any malfunctions, misconduct or operational and safety issues. Interview victims and witnesses; write incident reports as necessary
  • Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management
  • Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and customers
  • Proactive enforcement of PRCC policies and procedures and ensure timely response and follow up to violations and complaints from guests, clients and employees according to established policies and procedures. Responsible of lost and found procedures and control
  • Assist with the development and implementation of public safety plans for day-to-day operations and special events
  • Follow all rules and regulations as outlined in the policies and procedures manual and ensure compliance by Security personnel.   Responsible for the control of the building Keys and Key log control
  • Assure property is secure and that no damage occurs due to visitor negligence or vandalism
  • Operate and monitor security systems such as CCTV, Fire Control, radio communications equipment, elevators and lighting controls.  Aid in direction of orderly evacuation of building
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong written, read and verbal communication skills both in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to lead, supervise, and mentor teams
  • Ability to work independent to accomplish work assignments, as well as in a team environment
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Obtain and maintain an active security guard card
  • Ability to work under pressure, recognize problems and find solutions
  • Ability to multi-task and handle a variety of complex day–to-day tasks
  • Ability to frequently move about venue
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, in addition to normal business hours to coincide with events.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, as well as in various weather climates.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s or associate Degree in safety management or relevant field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
  • Certificate in occupational health and safety

Computer Skills

  • Must have proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new software programs
