Sanitation Supervisor

Position Summary
The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing plant sanitation operations to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This role supervises daily cleaning activities, ensures adherence to company policies and GMPs, and supports continuous improvement in food safety and sanitation programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day‑to‑day sanitation of production equipment and facility
  • Train, schedule, and direct sanitation employees
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, GMP, and safety standards
  • Develop, implement, and maintain SSOPs, cleaning procedures, logs, and documentation
  • Maintain and execute the Master Sanitation Schedule
  • Train employees on safe equipment operation, disassembly, and sanitation processes
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safety requirements
  • Partner with Quality Assurance, R&D, Maintenance, and chemical suppliers to improve sanitation results and reduce costs
  • Protect product integrity during sanitation activities
  • Address employee performance, attendance, and workplace issues
  • Support productivity, quality, and food safety goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience in the food industry
  • Food industry sanitation experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, MSDS, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to complete reports and maintain records
  • Basic math skills for chemical preparation (rates, ratios, percentages)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • HACCP certification preferred
  • 2+ years in a similar role or an equivalent combination of education and experience
