What you will do:
Lead and manage a team of field-based Safety Professionals providing health and safety (HS) advisory, mentorship, and assurance support throughout construction execution.
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of safety programs and initiatives aligned with project goals.
Provide subject matter expertise on field-based safety systems, including contractor safety management, safety performance monitoring, and event analysis.
Assist in the development of effective corrective actions following safety events or observations
Actively contribute to the Projects Safety team’s strategic goals and initiatives.
Who you are:
University degree, diploma, or certification in in Occupational Health (or equivalent).
Minimum of 7 years of professional related work experience (Heavy industrial construction Safety experience in Oil and Gas preferred).
Proven experience in leading field-based contracted safety teams within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of basic project management skills and ability to oversee and as possible maintain progress on multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong knowledge of contractor safety management systems and performance metrics.
Strong Knowledge of Hazard management including Energy based hazards.
Demonstrated ability to analyze safety events and implement corrective actions.
Excellent communication, leadership, and mentorship skills.
Working Conditions:
Office based. Office-based role with travel to field sites across Canada and parts of the U.S. as required/requested.
20 to 25 % travel.
Work includes time on active, high-risk construction sites.
Physical activity required, including walking on facilities and pipeline right-of-ways, and climbing construction and facility infrastructure with varying cold and hot weather conditions.
