Overview:

Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Supervisor, Nursing and Patient Care services to join our Endoscopy Unit! This is a full-time role in Suffolk, VA.

About the department:

Our newly remodeled endoscopy unit features three state-of-the-art procedure rooms and is staffed by a dedicated team of six RNs and endoscopy technicians who work closely with a primary GI outpatient provider, with additional staff available for call coverage and surgical needs. The team performs an average of 12 to 15 procedures daily Our experienced gastroenterologists and colorectal surgeons, deliver comprehensive care through both outpatient and inpatient services, ensuring the highest quality patient care.

The Supervisor, Nursing and Patient Care Services is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the healthcare facility during their shift, ensuring high-quality patient care, safety, and staff efficiency. This position serves as the primary liaison between departments, providing leadership, direction, and support to nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers. The Supervisor is also tasked with coordinating patient flow, managing staffing levels, responding to emergencies, and addressing any operational issues that may arise throughout their shift.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (required) Or

  • MSN (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

  • Registered nursing License (Required)

  • BLS required within 90 days of hire

  • Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.

Experience

  • 1 year of previous management experience OR 2 years' experience in a support leadership RN position, (Required)

  • 3 years of nursing experience (Required)

  • 5+ years of nursing experience preferred

  • Procedural experience preferred

  • GI or Endoscopy Experience preferred

  • Staff development and retention

  • Quality outcomes and patient experience
