Supervisor, R&D Engineering
As the R&D Engineering Supervisor, you will lead and guide a team of mechanical and electrical engineers. This team is part of the Engineering Group and is focused on new product introduction and improvement within the Curtiss-Wright Aircraft Arresting Systems business unit (BU). In this role you will be responsible for the development of R&D program scopes, the execution of product development objectives, and provide mentorship to the engineering team. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams – including project management, operations and government customers – to deliver innovative, safe, and cost-effective solutions.
This role is fully on-site at the Aston, PA facility.
Location: Aston, PA
Salary: $125,000 to $145,000

Your Challenges:
Lead and manage product engineering functions by setting departmental objectives, allocating resources, and overseeing execution across multiple projects / initiatives.
Oversee product validation and readiness activities to ensure early-stage products meet performance, quality, and release criteria.
Perform personnel management functions – recruiting and hiring, performance appraisals and performance management, staffing analysis, and employee development.
Influence and establish technical execution best practices.
Evaluate all available Engineering tools and resources required to meet development and capability needs.
Communicate with internal and external customers on project and design related challenges.
Provide technical mentorship and guidance within the engineering team.
Required travel time is less than 10%.
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
8+ years of progressive engineering or management experience. Preference for experience in defense, aerospace, or similar industry.
Demonstrated experience leading R&D programs, technology development, or new product introduction.
Strong understanding of system design processes, with experience in program phases from capture through development to sustainment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage technically complex situations.
Proficiency in engineering processes (e.g. DFMA, FMEA, tolerance stack-up analysis, etc.).
Familiarity with industry standards (ASME, IEEE, MIL-STD’s, etc.)
Ability to travel up to 10%.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
