Supervisor -Production Training

Where will you work: Onsite K2, Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, Canada

The Supervisor, Production Trainer is responsible for safe and environmentally sound day-to-day continuous production activities to support the continuous operations of the plant. Includes all facets of production supervision namely hourly employees, product quality, safety, environmental, railroad and raw material management. Assist with the implementation of process improvements or capital projects as needed. Manage/oversee employee training and qualifications. The position is a liaison between management, shift operations and maintenance. Responsible for conducting audits and inspections. Reviews and authorizes work permits.

What will you do?

The Supervisor, Production Trainer is responsible for safe and environmentally sound day-to-day continuous production activities to support the continuous operations of the plant. Includes all facets of production supervision namely hourly employees, product quality, safety, environmental, railroad and raw material management. Assist with the implementation of process improvements or capital projects as needed. Manage/oversee employee training and qualifications. The position is a liaison between management, shift operations and maintenance. Responsible for conducting audits and inspections. Reviews and authorizes work permits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering training, administering all infield and written tests, monitoring progress and compliance with training standards.

  • Developing training plans for individuals and reviewing and updating training materials.

  • Consulting with operators and supervisors regarding opportunities for improvements and standardization of operations training.

  • Creating and maintaining operations training materials – Manuals, SOP's, One Point Lessons, Checklist, REC documents.

  • Creating and maintaining training plans to meet progression obligations.

  • Creating and maintaining lockouts and applicable documents.

  • Ability to learn milling operation and provide Production Shift Supervisor coverage as required.   

  • Maintain safe and environmentally sound operating conditions within equipment design parameters

  • Lead, schedule, coach, train, and develop hourly employees as needed (incl. safety and environmental)

  • Facilitate ongoing communication between hourly employees and management to ensure proper and efficient rail operation, product quality, allocation of resources, safety and environmental

  • Work with operations and maintenance to troubleshoot and address problems in the plant to maximize product and raw materials flow and safety. Assist in the implementation of process improvements or capital projects

  • Responsible for conducting audits and inspections

  • Reviews and authorizes work permits

  • Other job-related duties as assigned

What you’ll need:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years of relevant experience or 2-year technical program with 2+ years of experience required. Technical or Engineering Bachelor’s degree with at least 1+ years of relevant experience preferred.

  • Step-up, leadership, or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Industrial experience, chemical experience, and supervisory experience is a plus.

  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.  Experience with SAP, Pi, OIS, Kronos is considered an asset.

  • Must be an effective leader and have positive influence on hourly workforce

  • Strong motivational, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills in a fast-paced environment are required

  • Employment is subject to successfully completing Mosaic's pre-employment checks including criminal, drug and alcohol testing.

  • Must be authorized to work in Canada.
