Position Summary:
Supervises shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment: plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for following safety and environmental procedures. Procedures can be found on our company intranet.
- Ensure effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Make employment decisions. Identifies and resolves employee concerns efficiently and professionally.
- Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.
- Manages departmental performance measures and provides regular progress reports to manager.
- Supports employees in obtaining materials, information, tools and other needed resources to perform their responsibilities efficiently.
- Conduct annual performance reviews and provide feedback on both positive and negative performance.
- Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
- Maintains an active role in the training, cross training and development of employees.
- Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
- Maintain safe work practices and a safe working environment within the area.
- Responsible for ensuring the department conforms to the company ERP procedures and maintenance as documented.
- Responsible for following the procedures per the company’s quality system.
Basic Requirements:
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing and 3 years experience of production/manufacturing leadership; or 7 years experience of production/manufacturing leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Excellent ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong leadership skills with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs, and procedures
- Experience with 5S and Lean manufacturing environments
