This supervisor leads a diverse team of support-level staff, generally providing administrative support for various work groups or performing hospitality functions such as reception or housekeeping. The primary purpose of this position is to provide full, daily supervision for assigned staff. This responsibility includes hiring, discipline, and termination, as well as, coaching, performance management, assigning, checking, and approving work to meet specific objectives. The incumbent will ensure completion of department responsibilities following established practices, organizational strategy, department guidelines, and within approved budget.
Responsibilities

Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.
Effectively manages a small team of administrative staff to provide support to multiple managers and functional areas as needed.
Supervises staff that proofread records, documents, or forms and other correspondence and often schedules large and complex meetings, record meeting minutes, coordinate travel, welcome and host visitors, and prepare agendas and itineraries.
Supervises staff that greet visitors, answer their questions, politely enforce security, and extend a warm greeting to all who access the facility. Also oversees other functions such as answering and forwarding phone calls, sorting and filing records, and receiving and sorting daily mail/deliveries/couriers.
Ensures the ordering of supplies or services, arrangement for shipping or transportation, or provision of other logistical services in accordance with standard practices and policies. May provide notary services as required.
Leads staff to perform a variety of general support work such as answering phones, entering and retrieving electronic data, or sorting and distribute mail.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field
Experience
Three years’ relevant experience in administrative or business operations.
Demonstrated experience in team supervision.
Training or experience in procurement is an added advantage.

Proficiency in office productivity tools and administrative systems.
Fluency in French and English.
