Supervisor, Media Manufacturing

Location: This position is based at our Walkersville, MD site and is a full-time role with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Supervisor, Media Manufacturing is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the powder media manufacturing area, ensuring compliance with cGMP standards and maintaining a safe work environment. This role leads a team to achieve key performance indicators, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure adherence to manufacturing procedures. The Supervisor partners closely with Quality Assurance to guarantee that all products meet quality system requirements and applicable regulatory standards.

Compensation for this role will be determined by the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and relevant knowledge.

What you will do:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily manufacturing activities to meet production schedules for Powder Manufacturing Production Department (PMPD).

  • Provide on-the-floor leadership through coaching, guidance, and training of operators.

  • Set priorities and allocate resources to ensure timely completion of tasks; collaborate with other team leaders and support functions.

  • Review and revise batch records, SOPs, and forms for GMP compliance; ensure timely review of completed batch records.

  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing deviations, CAPAs, and customer complaints promptly.

  • Manage employee performance through clear expectations, documentation, and development plans.

  • Ensure production equipment is maintained in optimal condition, coordinate with support teams for sourcing, repairs, and retirement of equipment.

  • Participate in internal and customer audits, providing tours and audit support as needed.

  • Support new product introductions, cross-functional projects, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum 5 years of management experience leading small to medium-sized teams in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with aseptic practices and cleanroom operations (required).

  • Strong knowledge of GMPs, SOPs, and regulatory compliance.

  • Understanding of biology and chemistry principles.

  • Proficiency in computer applications; strong organizational, planning, and record-keeping skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and team-building skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach, delegate, and motivate team members while fostering a positive work environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

  • Preferred: Experience in powder media manufacturing (PMPD) or similar powder-focused production environments.

  • Open to candidates from related industries such as food & beverage, cosmetics, or other powder-based manufacturing sectors.
