Position Summary:

Plans, directs and coordinates activities relating to the materials department activities including safety, quality, productivity and employee relations. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the Materials department’s Team Leaders, Kitters / Pullers and Forklift Truck Drivers.
  • Plans, directs and coordinates movement of material within the JIT manufacturing facility.
  • Assist the Materials Manager in appropriate manpower requirements.
  • Assist in managing material cycle counts and annual physical inventory reconciliation.
  • Leads process improvement projects: productivity, quality, ergonomics, etc.
  • Trains employees on their job duties and responsibilities; cross-trains as necessary. 
  • Ensures employees are consistently adhering to standardized work processes and schedules. 
  • Ensures all company policies, procedures, plant standards and safety rules are consistently adhered to.
  • Collaborates with the Department and HR Managers in administering disciplinary action, when necessary.
  • Maintains employees’ time related to the Attendance and Time-Off Policies Provides timely feedback on work performance and performance reviews.

Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:

  • Excellent problem solving and leadership skills
  • Detail oriented and excellent documentation skills
  • Working knowledge of safety standards and OSHA guidelines
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MRP

Position Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: 

  • 3+ years of materials supervisory experience or 5+ years materials team leadership experience in a tier-one automotive manufacturing facility.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Manufacturing Environment
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
  • Requires walking, standing, bending and lifting for long periods of time
  • Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer

Compensation Range

$55,675.68 - $81,658.04

The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Fox reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
