Position Overview
Responsible for managing all activities in production department, including warehouse to ensure the operational safety, production efficiency, and to produce qualified products according to sales demands and punctually deliver to customer in order to achieve the department’s goals, establishing the SOP & WI, evaluating the shift team staff performance. Responsible for managing resources (people and equipment) and production planning / projects to introduce NPI and match facility capabilities with market and customer demands. Maintain the performance index of operation, continuous improving for the EHS, productivity, quality system of department.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage the daily operation related task:
• Manage the manufacturing related operations including RM preparation.
• Manage the filling and package related operation.
• Monitoring the manufacturing process by MPCS.
• Report to a Production manager when there are any abnormal situations.
• Assure correct production work described in Work Instruction to meet production plan
• It is possible to determine the condition deviating from SOP and/or WI.
2. Manage in Kaizen and continuous improvement activities and contribute to plant safety initiatives and the miscellaneous production related tasks (inventory cycle count, preventive maintenance, incident investigation).
3. Plan and organize the SH&E and Housekeeping
• Lead 5S activities and patrol the manufacturing site for housekeeping. Maintain the safe environment.
• Coordinate the safety for the PM and repairs with maintenance department.
4. Investigate into root cause reported by NCR.
5. Support and advise for a junior supervisor, a Lead OA and OAs to execute their daily work.
6. In process SPC control
• Manage In Process Quality Control and initiate immediate action if OOC, OOS happened so as not to be repeated the same issue.
7. Leading the team to complete the daily production and responsible for the daily operations.
• Make a detail production schedule based on the production plan by planning team including shift operation works arrangement and manpower coordination.
• Review and confirm the operation records and process trouble shooting, reporting and resolving
• Coordinating the warehouse team to prepare and control the raw materials, consumable materials for manufacturing.
• Engage in operation and equipment improvements programs.
• Apply for the supplement to the office supplies, maintenance request, consumables request… occasionally.
8. Supervising the operation shift team
• Manage the shift team for PFP and IGP
• Reminding and supervising a Lead OA and Operation Associates to operate by following the SOP and WI.
9. Work with production engineers, capital and maintenance team to transfer NPIs
10. Back up a production manager role when he/she is not in the plant.
Job Requirements
Key knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Strong background in Chemical Engineering with chemical or particle process experience.
• Critical thinker and confident problem solver with expertise in FMEA-like skill-sets and troubleshooting experience.
• Expertise in statistical process control, and data analysis and correlation.
• Strong persuasion and influence skills with the ability to drive/effect change without direct authority.
• Proficient computer skills, experienced with databases and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Six Sigma GB certification is desirable.
• Experience with process control methodologies used in continuous and batch chemical operations.
• Ability to lead and motivate a high-performance team and to organize teams toward a specific project and goals.
• English communication skill with other functions (through e-mail and oral).
Applicable Education, Experience, Licensing, and Capabilities:
• Bachelor degree in a technical field, chemistry or engineering preferred.
• At least 7 years experience in a chemical manufacturing operation.
• Experience in a supervisory and/or management role.
• Solid statistical knowledge and background related to SPC preferred.
• Experience with process control methodologies used in continuous and batch chemical operations.
