Supervisor, Mailroom

The University of Miami/UHealth department of Supply Chain has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Supervisor, Mailroom to work in Hialeah, FL. The Supervisor, Mailroom supervises staff and mailroom activities, including the sorting and delivery of incoming mail, as well as the preparation and sending of outgoing mail. This position also monitors inventory and checks and reorders items to ensure smooth operations.
 

  • Coordinates the processing of all types of incoming and outgoing mail, freight deliveries, bulk mailings, publications, private service pickups, deliveries etc.

  • Assists with incoming mail processing for confidential or high-level mailing request in order to ensure proper handling.

  • Supervises mailroom staff and devises work schedules according to budgets and workloads. Provides training and support to mailroom employees to help them better perform their roles.

  • Evaluates mailroom operations, to include customer service, delivery systems and procedures; recommends operational improvements, new policies and procedures to improve service and control costs.

  • Resolves complaints and addresses customer inquiries regarding mailroom services and procedures.

  • Directs the handling and disposal of outdated files or sensitive material.

  • Reviews and audits work of mailroom staff, such as mailing records, for accuracy and corrects errors.

  • Makes recommendations to management concerning staff (i.e. applicants for employment, terminations etc.) and the improvement of procedures.

  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.  Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
