Position Overview

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for leading a team that delivers the integration, design, and development of brake and clutch products across a broad portfolio. This role provides technical leadership and oversight to refine and integrate products into the Regal Rexnord Business System (RBS). Projects typically focus on Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives and product improvements related to quality and cost. The Engineering Supervisor collaborates closely with manufacturing, R&D, and customers to define product scope and application requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 2–5 design and project engineers.
  • Communicate effectively and provide leadership within the Design Engineering function and across other departments.
  • Manage technical ownership and content for the electro‑mechanical brake product portfolio.
  • Lead VAVE initiatives and product improvement activities within the Design Engineering department.
  • Prepare customer reports communicating verification and validation results related to new designs, changes, or deviations.
  • Work directly with customers on new applications and custom design solutions.
  • Prepare or oversee the development of accurate engineering drawings for new or revised designs.
  • Apply and oversee the use of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Develop and apply in‑depth product knowledge to specific customer applications.
  • Utilize 3D solid modeling CAD software and finite element analysis (FEA) tools for product design and analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety rules and report questionable conditions to management.
  • Travel up to 10% domestically, primarily to customer locations or other Regal Rexnord facilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in product or process development involving industrial products; relevant internships and demonstrated accomplishments may be credited toward experience.
  • Strong willingness to work hands‑on to build, develop, and troubleshoot products and processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, technical manuals, safety rules, professional publications, and government regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from employees, managers, customers, and the public.
  • Proven ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with high‑reliability products, industrial automation, or export‑controlled products.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software, preferably SolidWorks.
