This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.

The Supervisor, Electromechanical Technical Support (Management Path), is responsible for leading and developing a team of Electro-Mechanical Technicians in the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of electromechanical systems. This role provides hands-on leadership and technical direction on the production floor while partnering with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations. The supervisor plays a critical role in driving reliability, equipment performance, and a culture of excellence and accountability.

Specifics Include:

  • Lead, coach, and develop Electro-Mechanical Technicians to support equipment reliability and operational performance

  • Oversee the design, installation, operation, maintenance, calibration, and upgrade of electromechanical systems and facility infrastructure

  • Troubleshoot, test, assemble, rework, repair, and modify electromechanical assemblies and non-conforming equipment

  • Partner with engineers to develop, implement, and validate technical solutions that enhance device performance and equipment reliability

  • Inspect and maintain equipment using diagnostic tools, software, and CMMS; utilize CAD software to support proposed solutions

  • Manage daily task execution, workflow, and shift coverage to meet production and maintenance priorities

  • Drive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities and ensure CMMS compliance across the shift

  • Make real-time operational decisions, including equipment shutdowns and personnel reassignments, to manage risk and ensure business continuity

  • Collaborate closely with production teams to communicate equipment status, resolve issues, and align corrective actions

  • Identify and lead improvement initiatives targeting quality, yield, uptime, safety, and cost

  • Provide feedback on spare parts usage, rebuild outcomes, and inventory needs to ensure adequate critical spares availability

  • Partner with vendors and suppliers to support equipment upgrades, quick-change parts, and sustainable technical solutions

  • Provide technical guidance and solutions to production managers for day-to-day operational challenges

  • Support engineering studies, validations, and continuous improvement projects through technical expertise and data-driven input

  • Ensure strict adherence to GxP regulations by following SOPs, maintaining accurate documentation, completing required training, and upholding quality standards

  • Foster a positive work environment through effective performance management, employee engagement, and recognition

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+16yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)

  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English

  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience

  • 1 Years of Demonstrated Leadership

  • Work hours: 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday: 2:00 PM EST – 11:00 PM EST

  • Travel Requirements: 0%

  • Location: Onsite

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working in fully automated or high-volume manufacturing environments

  • Strong electrical, mechanical, and controls troubleshooting skills
