About The Position

The Supervisor, Distribution Design (DER Applications) is primarily responsible for managing and leading a team that works with internal partners and external customers to ensure that customer submitted DER interconnection applications are resolved appropriately, in support of Ameren's overall goals for renewable energy and customer focus, while ensuring alignment with Ameren Standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Execute general supervision of the Applications Team members and complete the responsibilities encompassed by this role. This includes maintaining a healthy team environment, coaching, and encouraging the personal and professional development of all team members.
  • Interface with contract consultants, ensuring that assigned tasks are completed correctly, and acting when needed to correct issues.
  • Collaborate with the DER Integration Manager to prioritize, scope, and track enhancements to the PowerClerk system.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to the DER Integration Manager related to team workload, resource deficiencies, and opportunities for workload balancing between the Applications team and consulting resources.
  • Facilitate the resolution of issues that arise during the life cycle of DER interconnection applications, including interfacing with the DER Integration Team, other internal Ameren teams, and the interconnection customer to achieve fair and balanced outcomes.
  • Maintain familiarity with the Illinois Administrative Code Parts 466 and 467, using this knowledge to ensure that Ameren internal DER interconnection application processing aligns with the requirements of these codes.
  • Proficiently navigate the Ameren organization, leveraging the correct resources to facilitate problem solving within new and existing DER interconnection process flows.
  • Lead a culture of safety within the DER Applications team and ensure that the team maintains their position as key contributors in achieving Department and Company goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, GIS, Construction Management, Project Management or related technical field plus five or more years of relevant experience (e.g., engineering, design or construction experience on electric or gas distribution lines, GIS, Computer-Aided Drafting, or distributed generation interconnections like solar and wind) required OR an Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, GIS, Computer-Aided Drafting, Construction Management, Project Management or related technical field and seven years of relevant experience required.  Nine years of relevant experience may be considered without required Bachelor's or Associate's degree.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Ability to analyze data; proficiency with MS Office applications suite; proficiency with OAS, DEW and DOJM systems; knowledge of Ameren Gas and Electric standards; understanding of Ameren Illinois Utilities’ Standards and Qualifications; and the following Ameren competencies: Think Customer, Inspire and Engage, Foster Innovation, Drive Results, Champion Learning, Build Trust, and Be Strategic.

Compensation Range:

$88,500.00 - $137,200.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
