Supervisor, Copywriting & Translation (FTC -Maternity Cover)

Reporting to the Senior Manager of eCommerce Operations, the Supervisor, Copywriting and Translation will oversee the copywriting and translation teams to ensure alignment with brand voice, quality standards, and business objectives. They will manage daily workflows, uphold SLAs, and drive the timely delivery of content, with a primary focus on the online store experience.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Oversee the Copywriting and Translation teams in writing and proofing all content, including product descriptions and romance copy, ensuring alignment with brand voice, vendor guidelines, and business objectives, while maintaining individual ownership of a select portfolio

  • Ensure SLAs and onboarding KPIs for the copywriting and translation functions are consistently met

  • Liaise with merchants and internal teams to clarify copy points, conduct research, and ensure accuracy as needed

  • Ensure that inaccuracies related to copy and translation are resolved in a timely and efficient manner

  • Ensure maintenance and timely updates to all tracking and reporting related to copywriting and translation within the onboarding process

  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, eCommerce Operations, to review and forecast resource requirements for the copywriting and translation functions

  • Own the relationship with freelance contractors – manage workflow, time frame and invoices in addition to reviewing copy as required

  • Provide creative support to the Omnichannel team, helping to build a strong, strategic brand voice that supports broader marketing campaigns

  • Partner closely with Digital Marketing and Online Merchandising teams to define content requirements and deliver compelling, integrated messaging across all digital touchpoints

  • Deliver creative, innovative solutions that reinforce Holt Renfrew’s market leadership and brand positioning

  • Develop a deep understanding of products, customers, competitors, and industry trends, offering insights and recommendations to inform content strategy

  • Support other teams outside of Omnichannel with copywriting needs as required

  • Develop online messaging for Omnichannel digital programs, including subject lines, e-newsletter copy, and landing page copy, as needed

  • Proofread and edit marketing materials produced by the Digital Marketing team, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and brand consistency

  • Lead team in producing SEO-optimized Brand Biographies and Category Copy that reflects Holt Renfrew’s point of view, as required

  • Champion continuous improvement in writing quality and processes by exploring and implementing more effective tools and approaches

The ideal candidate:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in copywriting, preferably digital

  • Has a post graduate degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Proven people management experience, with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members, including 3+ years supervisory or management experience

  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills with the ability to get things done 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player who can act as both a leader and an individual contributor as required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Is adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change 

  • Highly service-oriented with exceptional organizational and follow up skills

  • Passionate about fashion and luxury retailing

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Experience or background in SEO would be an asset

  • Bilingual with a fluency in French oral and written would be an asset

Hiring Range / Échelle salariale à l’embauche :

$63,066.66 - $77,200.00 / 63.066,66$ - 77.200,00$ (per year / par an)

Final compensation for this position will be determined based on the candidate's unique skills, expertise, individual qualifications, and assessed contributions to the role following the completion of the interview process. The range stated is the starting range for this position. Offers may vary with experience, qualifications, performance, and local market conditions.
