We’re seeking a Supervising Producer to take a lead role in making and developing content for YouTube and social media. This position will be based in Chicago or New York.

You should be a video storyteller who is also well-versed in what works on YouTube and social media, from style to metadata to thumbnails, and able to take digital content from concept to execution. Since we are a 24-7 newsroom, you should also be comfortable working in high-pressure situations, a stickler for spelling, and committed to telling stories that matter.

Position description

Pitch, develop, and produce original video content, including for YouTube and social media platforms

Post to and manage social media accounts reaching millions of users, from Facebook to TikTok

Oversee the creation of social media and video content, ensuring best practices are followed to maximize impact

Evaluate content, workflow, and strategy, using data to provide recommendations for improvement

Ensure NewsNation’s digital content maintains high standards and differentiates our brand from our competitors

Keep up to date on the latest trends in digital and social video production and share with the larger team

Qualifications

4+ years working as a producer of original video content for large brands or news outlets

Good news judgement and ability to spot stories / topics with high potential reach

Strong writing skills and ability to maintain a consistent brand voice

Ability to quickly edit video and photos in high-pressure situations

Knowledge of data and analytics and demonstrated ability to use that data to make decisions

Good communicator who can work collaboratively

Experience using Adobe Suite, including Premiere and Photoshop, preferred

Journalism background preferred but not required

Experience directing on-camera talent a plus

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

This position is in-office in New York or Chicago. Late-night and/or weekend shifts may be required.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000
