The Inpatient Behavioral Health Services Supervising Nursing Coordinator (SNC), a licensed RN, PMHNP, etc. assists the Inpatient BHS Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the inpatient psychiatric unit. Under the direction and delegation of the manager, responsibilities include operations such as hiring and training, scheduling staff, annual reviews, timekeeping, and performance management to promote exceptional patient care, documentation and regulatory compliance. The SNC assists in problem solving and communication between various BHS areas as well as the broader organization. This position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to serve in the nursing functions of the IP BHS unit in addition to the leadership capabilities required.Pay Range: $82,908.80 - 124,342.40 USD Annual

Requirements:
2 years of post-graduate level work in a psychiatric or clinical setting
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing Program
Currently licensed in the State of Michigan (RN, PMHNP, etc.)
Current BLS for the Health Provider or completed within first quarter of hire

Effectively addresses personnel issues in order to promote a productive and healthy workplace of choice and support staff through various issues in order to maintain a healthy working environment
Responsible to adopt and consistently apply core values and strategic essentials as a means to guide and make decisions to achieve short and long-term organizational objectives.
Participates in LHRN (Leadership Human Resources Networking), Product Line, and BHS Leadership meetings as well as other strategic planning of the department to achieve desirable outcomes, meet quality metrics and integrate care for patients throughout the continuum of services
Standards of Professional Performance:
Helps nursing team deliver safe, trauma informed, evidence based, patient centered nursing care to individuals within an inpatient psychiatric setting who are experiencing acute psychiatric conditions, behavioral health crises, and co- occurring medical needs
Use a shared decision-making and unit-based initiatives to promote stabilization, safety, and recovery while holding in mind organizational goals, safety standards, and quality metrics
Provides leadership, direction, and guidance to staff through coaching, mentoring, and delegation using clinical judgment and effective communication while upholding professional nursing standards and organizational policies
Practices in accordance with the Michigan Public Health Code Act 368 of 1978, Article 15 (Health Occupations), Part 172 (Nursing), and demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the needs of patients across the lifespan.
Assessment & Diagnosis
Conducts comprehensive psychiatric and medical assessments, including mental status exams, suicide risk assessments, and behavioral observations
Identifies psychiatric nursing diagnoses using critical thinking and clinical judgment
Responds to crises including behavioral escalations, psychiatric emergencies, and medical instability
Assesses environmental and safety risks including elopement, self‑harm, and aggression
Documents behavioral observations and interventions accurately and timely
Outcomes Identification & Planning
Develops individualized plans of care addressing psychiatric symptoms, coping skills, safety needs, and recovery goals
Collaborates with the treatment team to support stabilization and discharge planning
Engages families and support systems when appropriate
Implementation
Provides trauma‑informed, patient‑centered interventions
Administers psychiatric and medical medications and monitors therapeutic and adverse effects
Implements de‑escalation strategies and participates in crisis intervention using approved techniques
Maintains a therapeutic milieu that supports safety and recovery
Evaluation
Evaluates patient progress toward stabilization and treatment goals
Adjusts care plans based on ongoing assessment and team input
Patient Education
Assesses learning needs related to psychiatric conditions, medications, coping strategies, and discharge planning
Provides individualized education to support understanding and long‑term wellness
Reinforces coping skills and self‑management strategies
