About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Lloyd Upgrader/LEP/Cogen, the Superintendent, Maintenance Execution will demonstrate a strong understanding of maintenance execution fundamentals and key performance indicators (KPIs) used to drive performance management.
The Superintendent, Maintenance Execution is accountable for the safe and efficient execution of site (Lloyd Upgrader & Lloyd Ethanol Plant)–based routine and major maintenance activities. It includes administration and oversight of key contract service providers that supplement the Cenovus workforce, as well as stewardship of the maintenance expense budget for the LU & LEP Plants to ensure cost-effective and reliable operations.

This position is located in Lloydminster and requires the successful candidate to live in the area.
This is a full-time employee position.
What you’ll do:
Lead the Cenovus Maintenance Execution team and contract support organizations on behalf of the Upgrader.
Provide full oversight of all routine and major maintenance activities at the LU & LEP Plants, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
Drive maintenance performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and established performance management practices.
Administer and manage key contract service providers, including performance oversight and complex relationship management.
Steward the LU & LEP maintenance expense budgets to ensure cost control and fiscal accountability.
Partner closely with Maintenance Planning, Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Supply Chain to align priorities and execution strategies.
Provide leadership in complex problem solving and decision-making to support reliable, cost-effective operations.
Foster a strong safety culture and a collaborative, team-oriented environment that supports cross-functional success.
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Extensive knowledge of routine and major maintenance workflows, including planning, scheduling, and field execution.
Strong expertise in contract administration and contractor field management within a heavy industrial environment.
Minimum 5 years of maintenance execution leadership experience, with demonstrated success leading frontline and contractor teams.
Minimum 16 years of total industry experience in a heavy industrial setting.
Trades background; Engineering degree or Engineering Technologist designation preferred.
Proven ability to manage maintenance budgets and drive performance using key performance indicators (KPIs).

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.
For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
