The New York Post’s Sunday Edition is one of the most exciting and influential parts of our publication, reaching nationwide readers with the most engaging, thought-provoking, and timely news coverage. We are searching for a full-time News Reporting Intern (40 hrs/week Tues-Saturday) to join our Sunday team this summer! As part of the New York Post’s Sunday news team, you’ll contribute to a vital part of the paper that is widely read and relied upon by our audience across the country. This is an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the editorial team behind one of the most iconic Sunday editions in the media industry. You’ll work alongside some of the best in the business, crafting stories that resonate with millions of readers.

As a Sunday Intern, you’ll be in the thick of it, contributing to the development of hard-hitting stories and features that define our Sunday paper—whether that means breaking news, in-depth profiles, or captivating features on entertainment and celebrity culture. This is your chance to get unparalleled experience working on some of the most anticipated and widely read editions in journalism. You’ll work closely with seasoned Sunday staff reporters to pitch, develop, and execute stories that millions of people will read online. From researching background information and aggregating content to gathering quotes and writing under tight deadlines, you’ll be fully immersed in all aspects of Sunday news production  -- and have dozens of bylines by the end of your internship.  If you have a passion for hard news, entertainment, and writing powerful stories, this is the internship for you!

Note: This internship is scheduled to run from June 1, 2026 - August 7, 2026. Participants are expected to work full time hours and adhere to our on-site work schedule. Open to current juniors and seniors pursuing a BA, MA students, and recent graduates who completed their degree within the past year. Priority consideration will be given to applications received by March 15th.

What You’ll Do:

  • Pitch your own story ideas to the team, with the chance to execute approved stories—sometimes working directly with a lead reporter.

  • Assist reporters with research by gathering information from sources like social media, databases, and other digital tools.

  • Go on location to report, gather quotes, and observe key moments, feeding notes back to the lead reporter.

  • Help craft hard-hitting, engaging stories for the Sunday Edition by contributing to the writing and development of articles.

  • Collaborate with the team to cover everything from breaking news and in-depth features to entertainment and celebrity culture.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A keen sense of news judgment and the ability to identify compelling stories.

  • A passion for hard news, with an interest in entertainment and celebrity culture.

  • A self-starter who can work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

  • Strong writing skills and a creative mindset, with an eagerness to dive into a variety of stories.

  • Knowledge of New York City and its surrounding areas is preferred, but not required.

  • A deep interest in journalism and a desire to work on a high-impact team producing the nation’s most anticipated news coverage each Sunday.
