Alleima

Summer Technologist - Digitalization of corrosion data

Sandviken Full time

Location

Sandviken, Sweden

R&D within Strategic Research at Alleima has generated extensive experimental data—particularly corrosion data for our corrosion resistant alloys—dating back to the 1960s. While data produced after the 1990s has been documented and stored digitally, earlier results exist only in paper format and have not yet been digitized.

Your role

The purpose of this assignment is to transfer historical experimental data from hardcopy documents into a structured digital format. This includes identifying suitable digital formats that support future data analysis and potential use in machine learning applications.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who is in the 2nd or 3rd year of their bachelor’s degree in corrosion science/technology/engineering, materials science, data analytics or similar, and who has knowledge in data analytics, machine learning, or AI and has worked with Microsoft 365 and/or Python. Since the work as a summer technologist can mean that you collaborate with other units, we prefer that you have good oral and written skills in both Swedish and English.

Your personality is important; we are looking for a person who is curious and eager to learn, with strong analytical abilities and a natural interest in exploring new ideas and solutions. You are open-minded and willing to challenge existing ways of thinking, while also being attentive to details and committed to delivering high-quality work. Self-determination and the ability to take initiative are important qualities, as you are someone who is motivated, proactive, and able to drive your own development forward.

Extent

The summer technology period covers 8 weeks and begins as soon as the studies are finished for the summer.

The location is Sandviken. We at Alleima can help with accommodation in Sandviken during this time that you work as a summer technologist, and the selection will take place continuously during the application period.
