OUR SUMMER SQUAD 

Applications are open to current post-secondary students and recent graduates. This is a great opportunity for a current design student seeking an accredited internship as a requirement to graduate. We also welcome applicants from historically underrepresented groups or professionals making a career transition with less than 3 years of experience looking to take the next step in their career  
 
This is a summer contract that will give you valuable exposure and skill-building opportunities within several of our departments. Salt XC’s Summer Squad will consist of a 4-month long contract, full-time hours, from May to August 2026, with the opportunity for a contract extension beyond this date.  

Over the duration of the program, you can expect opportunities to network, meet Salters across other departments, participate in additional Learning & Development Opportunities, and receive mentorship from those currently in their desired field.This is currently a Hybrid work opportunity with 2-3 days in office required at our Salt Toronto Head Office. 

ROLE OVERVIEW   

SALT XC is seeking a Media Intern to support the Digital team across day-to-day digital tasks and project coordination. This role offers hands-on exposure to how digital and media programs are planned, executed, and supported within a collaborative agency environment. 

As a Media Intern, you’ll assist with campaign setup, platform support, and reporting while learning industry-standard tools and workflows through structured mentorship. You’ll work cross-functionally with Media, Digital, Strategy, and Account teams, building foundational digital skills and contributing to the continued growth of Salt XC’s digital offering. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES  
 
Project & Program Management 

  • Support digital projects by assisting with task tracking, timelines, and day-to-day coordination. 
  • Help prepare materials, schedules, and documentation to keep work moving smoothly. 

Technical Delivery & Digital Production 

  • Assist with basic digital production tasks across platforms (e.g., content updates, uploads, QA support). 
  • Support the use of digital tools and platforms by following established processes and guidelines. 

Scoping, Estimation & Requirements Definition 

  • Review briefs and requirements to understand project goals, deliverables, and constraints. 
  • Support documentation of requirements, assumptions, and updates as directed by the team. 

Client & Stakeholder Communication 

  • Assist with meeting preparation, notes, and follow-ups to support clear communication. 
  • Communicate questions, updates, or issues to the Digital team in a timely and professional manner. 

Risk Management, QA & Issue Resolution 

  • Support quality checks by reviewing work for accuracy, completeness, and alignment to requirements. 
  • Flag potential issues, errors, or risks early and escalate to the appropriate team member. 

Operational Excellence & Governance 

  • Follow established digital processes, tools, and documentation standards. 
  • Maintain organized files, task updates, and records to support efficient team operations. 

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS   

  • Strong presentation, communication, and relationship management skills
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task if required 
  • High level of efficiency and accuracy 
  • Strong foundational technology skills – familiarity with O365, social & digital media
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  
  • Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills  
  • Demonstrated creative and innovative thinker, who doesn’t mind rolling up their sleeves and getting the job done 
  • Organized and pays high attention to detail
