Internship Program Overview: Our 2026 Summer Internship Program is a paid 10-week internship program, scheduled to begin on June 8, 2026. Interns are expected to work full-time throughout the summer.
Summer interns will join an intern class consisting of undergraduate and graduate students to work on exciting projects in one of EDC’s many dynamic departments. Summer Interns will also participate in training programs, networking events, and other professional development opportunities over the course of the program.
Department Overview: The Strategic Investments Group (SIG) creates and structures impact investments to drive inclusive economic development by enhancing access to capital, mobilizing private investment and supporting the acceleration of EDC initiatives and strategic projects. To realize the vision of equitable, sustainable prosperity, SIG structures and implements impact investments utilizing an array of financing solutions, including the deployment of catalytic investment capital and discretionary tax incentives.
SIG is composed of two teams that facilitate the creation of quality jobs across all five boroughs of New York City, the Incentives team and the Funds and Advisory team.
The Funds and Advisory team originates, structures, and manages multiple fund vehicles that invest catalytic capital in the form of loans, venture capital, hybrid investments, and credit enhancement products. The investment portfolio is dedicated to expanding opportunity and enriching NYC’s economy while seeking blended financial and multi-faceted social returns. The team also advises both internal partners and external stakeholders on a range of financial and strategic initiatives.
These programs and vehicles collectively leverage billions of dollars of public and private sector investment.
Intern Responsibilities: The Summer Intern will join the Funds and Advisory team within the Strategic Investments Group. The Summer Intern will assist team members with the impact investment process, including market research, pipeline sourcing, financial analysis, investment structuring, execution, and portfolio management.
