Ingram Micro is seeking a Product Design Intern to join us in June for our 10-week PAID Summer Internship Program! We are looking for college and university students who are ready to expand their skills and apply them to meaningful work with a global organization.

Location:

This position is based in our Irvine, CA office with the opportunity for a hybrid schedule that includes required in-office days

Program details:

We have internships available across our various departments and locations throughout the U.S. Unless otherwise noted, all internships are on a hybrid format at the designated office listed in the job description, and are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Our program includes cohort activities such as learning & development trainings, executive speaker sessions, and other networking opportunities.

Important dates:

  • March: Applications Open (some postings may close early due to applicant volume)

  • March – April: Recruiters and hiring managers will review applications and reach out to candidates on a rolling basis. Timing of outreach for each internship position may vary, and some may start interviews sooner than others, but candidates may expect to hear by end of April if they are selected for an interview.

  • June 1st – August 7th: First cohort start & end date

  • June 15th – August 21st: Second cohort start & end date

Your role:

  • Support Design Initiatives Contribute to the evolution of our Xvantage platform by helping shape user interfaces that feel less like software and more like second nature. You'll explore how intelligent design can untangle the complexities of IT distribution and supply chain  asking "what if this were simpler?" and then actually building it.

  • User Research Participation Dig into the "why" behind how people work. Through interviews, surveys, and usability testing, you'll uncover the friction points and unmet needs that data alone can't reveal. You'll also get to explore how AI-driven behavioral insights are beginning to reshape what we even think to ask users  and what we discover without asking at all.

  • Prototype Development Turn ideas into something you can click, test, and learn from. You'll build prototypes that bring new features to life and collaborate with developers to make them real — while staying curious about how generative AI tools are changing the speed and texture of the design process itself.

  • Feedback Integration Treat every piece of feedback as a signal worth investigating. You'll close the loop between users, teammates, and stakeholders  iterating with intention and staying open to the possibility that the best design solution might be one nobody has thought of yet, including an AI.

  • Collaboration and Learning Embed yourself in a team of Product Designers and UX Researchers who believe great design is never finished. You'll contribute to a living ecosystem built for growth  and stay genuinely curious about how AI is quietly rewriting the rules of what human-centered design can be.

What you bring to the role:

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited college/university program, or recently graduated (within the last semester or quarter) from an accredited college/university program. Juniors or seniors are preferred.

  • UX Design Fundamentals

  • Foundational knowledge of user experience (UX) principles and design systems with strong attention to detail.

  • Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma.

  • Interest in emerging technologies, including AI and AI-powered tools.

  • User Research

  • Basic understanding of UX research methods and ability to translate user insights and data into design decisions.

  • Curiosity about user behavior and a desire to ask thoughtful questions to improve design outcomes.

  • Problem Solving

  • Creative and analytical approach to solving design challenges and improving user experiences.

  • Ability to evaluate problems from multiple perspectives to develop effective solutions.

  • Communication & Collaboration

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present ideas and design concepts.

  • Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and stakeholders.

  • Adaptability

  • Self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Demonstrates curiosity, initiative, and a growth mindset when learning new tools and technologies.

This posting will remain live for at least 3 days. After that, the posting may be removed at any time. We recommend submitting your application as soon as possible.
