The Information Risk Intern supports the bank’s Operational Risk Management (ORM) function in identifying, measuring, evaluating and mitigating risks. The role provides support for risk framework activities by gathering data and evidence for risk assessment updates, helping organize and track issues in GRC tools, and perform basic documentation updates aligned with risk events and controls. This position will work with various risk teams throughout the summer.

  • Explore Emerging Technologies: Research and recommend tools and technologies to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

  • Benchmark Data Analysis: Conduct comparative analysis of frameworks used by leading organizations to inform modernization efforts.

  • Support Policy & Standards Review: assist in comparing internal policies and standards to external regulatory requirements and provide first-draft summaries for review.

  • Prepare Presentation Materials: Prepare clear documentation, presentations, and dashboards to communicate improvements and recommendations to stakeholders. Prepare GRC procedures as needed.

  • Governance & Stakeholder support: track action items for risk committee or working group and prepare draft summaries for recurring meetings.

  • Complete other job responsibilities as assigned.

Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements for Interns:

  • Current undergraduate rising Junior or Senior enrolled in an accredited college or university who is pursuing a degree in related field and has an interest in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Technology, Risk Management or related field in the banking/financial services industry

  • Resourceful, enthusiastic, and proactive with a desire to learn about technology and cyber risk management frameworks

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks, documentation, and data inputs

  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail working with risk data, policies or technical documentation

  • Experience creating and delivering presentations using PowerPoint or data-driven visuals

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interpret technical information, compare frameworks, or identify data inconsistencies

  • Basic familiarity with technology concepts preferred but not required

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, curiosity, and willingness to take initiatives in research and project tasks

  • Ability to learn quickly and solve problems

  • Collaborative and inclusive team player who can work effectively with various teams

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S (position does not offer sponsorship now or in the future).

The estimated hourly range for this position is $21.00 USD to $23.00 USD. Actual hourly pay may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
