Job Description

Schnucks’ Summer Intern Program is an immersive corporate internship based in our St. Louis, Missouri headquarters. Interns gain real-world experience in their designated department, and collaborate on a cross-functional, inter-disciplinary group project to present at the end of the summer. These are paid internships that require full-time attendance 6/1/2026 through 8/7/2026.

The 2026 Industrial Engineering Summer Internship supports multiple projects for our Store Operations team, focused on efficiency and productivity improvement. This role offers practical experience in multiple functions and an introduction to the company and culture at Schnucks.

This role requires 4 days in the office, 1 day remote, and is located in St Louis, Missouri.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Leadership/ownership of assigned Industrial Engineering projects (e.g., labor standards, process flow, and layout optimization).

  • Time and motion studies, data collection, research, and analysis to identify operational waste and bottlenecks.

  • Hands-on learning and application of the Schnucks WORX system for labor planning, scheduling analysis, and engineered standards validation.

  • Support all areas of Store Operations with a focus on improving efficiency, productivity, and profitability using Industrial Engineering methodologies.

  • Cross-functional group project collaborating with other interns.

Minimum Requirements

  • Required Education: Current and Fall 2026 enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program, preferably in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related Engineering field, and completed at least 30 credit hours.

  • Available to work full-time Monday through Friday 6/1/26 – 8/7/26.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Motivated to learn and detail oriented.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • Proficient in Google and Microsoft applications, with strong analytical skills in Excel or other data analysis tools.

  • Must be able to work remotely as necessary.

  • Displays values consistent with Schnucks’ COMET culture.

Additional Requirements – Internal Candidates:

  • Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
  • Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
  • Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
  • If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.
