Please note: This posting is for a 4-month Student Summer 2026 placement with a start date of May 2026 and end-date of August 2026.
In order to be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either:
Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2026; or
If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April/August 2026), but you require the work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.

What is the opportunity?
Join Royal Bank of Canada’s Commercial Banking team for a dynamic summer internship focused on client insights and product innovation! You’ll work alongside a high-performing team dedicated to empowering over 3,000 Commercial Banking Advisors with data-driven insights and cutting-edge solutions. This role is at the intersection of client relationship growth and market-leading product launches, offering hands-on experience in shaping the future of commercial banking. As we strive to become the bank of choice for all businesses in Canada, you’ll contribute to initiatives that deliver exceptional value, advice, and access to clients.
What will you do?
Support the Leads Program by analyzing client data to identify opportunities for Advisors to deepen relationships and tailor solutions to client needs.
Collaborate with the Product Team to bring new commercial products to market, ensuring they meet client demands and drive business growth.
Assist in developing enablement materials (e.g., training, communications) to ensure Advisors are equipped to leverage insights and new products effectively.
Analyze client trends and feedback to refine lead-generation strategies and product positioning.
Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Product, Communications) to align initiatives with Commercial Banking’s strategic goals.
Contribute to embed and sustain programs and gather insights on new products to further enable Advisors and inform client engagement strategies.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis (e.g., Excel, SQL, or similar tools).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to develop clear, impactful enablement content.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to address complex client and business challenges.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
Nice-to-have:
Prior experience in financial services.
Basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis.
Understanding of commercial banking products and client needs.
