Job Description
AV has an immediate opening for a Subcontract Program Manager to support programs within Space Technologies Business Unit.
Space Technologies provides a full suite of exquisite, space-qualified hardware trusted to fly in the most extreme environments space presents across GEO, MEO, LEO and Cislunar orbits. With hundreds of systems flying in space, our customers turn to AV when a mission can’t fail.
Responsibilities:
Lead effort to develop and maintain a consistent business rhythm with key subcontractors, ensuring that cost, schedule, and technical objectives are met.
Oversee the end-to-end subcontracting process, including RFP activities, negotiations, awards, and performance management.
Ensure subcontractor performance aligns with program specifications, including cost, schedule, quality.
Manage and release deliverables, including Statements of Work (SOWs) and Subcontract Data Requirements Lists (SDRLs).
Lead programmatic and technical meetings with subcontractors and internal engineering teams, fostering clear communication and accountability.
Identify, forecast, and resolve issues impacting subcontractor performance, ensuring continuous progress and delivery.
Report project status and performance metrics to program leadership team and customers.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience project or program management, and/or supply chain management such as procurement, subcontract administration, subcontract management and/or negotiation.
Experience supporting or managing programs, and/or suppliers in aerospace industry.
Ability to lead and direct the activities and resources within and across the organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to listen, assimilate, evaluate, and summarize. Sound ability to communicate with the customer at all levels.
Knowledge of the Project Lifecycle from requirements definition, proposal preparation and negotiation and project implementation through to completion.
Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
5+ years experience in program management or supply chain within aerospace, defense, or other complex hardware system industries.
Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
Clearance Level
The salary range for this role is:
$98,432 - $139,650AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
ITAR Requirement:
This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). In order to comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants must qualify as a U.S. person under the ITAR and the EAR, or a person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
