Student Worker in Nasdaq Quant Research Team

Stockholm - Zenit Part time

In this role, you’ll support Quant Research group within Nasdaq’s European Economic and Statistical Research (ESR) department. As a student worker you will gain hands-on experience with providing research and analytical support on market microstructure, trading liquidity, and competitor behavior to multiple Nasdaq business units, such as cash equities, equity derivatives, and listings. The aim is improving the trading environment, capital formation, and market structure within the Nordic & Baltic region.

What Youll Do

  • Provide quantitative analysis and support research initiatives focusing on Nasdaq Nordic’s cash equities and equity derivatives markets.

  • Work independently on research projects as well as support research efforts by engaging in data extraction, data cleanup, and exploratory analysis.

  • Typical projects include supporting product development work on new market models and order types, understanding the trading flow of Nasdaq’s customers and helping them optimize trading/routing decisions, supporting the design of incentive schemes to attract order flow, and conducting impact analyses of various initiatives.

  • Collaborate with teammates across different functions and regions.

  • Bring your ideas and curiosity to problem-solving and project work.

  • Develop your technical and professional skills through training and mentorship.

We also offer the possibility for students to write their master theses within our group.

What Were Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a degree (bachelors or masters program) within engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, data science, finance/economics or other relevant subjects.

  • Proficiency in programming or scripting languages, e.g. R or Python

  • Previous experience with handling very large data sets

  • Some experience in employing statistical, econometric, and/or machine learning models to investigate business/research questions. This could be through prior internships, thesis work, or course work.

  • Ability to work well with others and contribute to a team environment.

  • Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and take on new challenges.

  • Good communication and organizational skills.

Nice-to-Have  

  • Experience working with SQL

  • Curiosity and interest about capital markets and finance.

 

Does this sound like you?

This is a part-time position in Stockholm, Sweden, with a minimum work of 2 days a week in parallel to studies, and full time during the summer. Start date is as soon as possible.
