As our Senior Teacher – Wellbeing Coordinator, you’ll champion student wellbeing, engagement and inclusion across a dynamic Special Assistance School. If you’re passionate about trauma‑informed practice, behaviour support and creating safe, connected learning environments, this is your next big move.
Lead whole‑school wellbeing initiatives and evidence‑based SEL programs
Provide individual and small‑group support, mentoring and restorative conversations
Support students experiencing social, behavioural or mental‑health challenges
Drive trauma‑informed, restorative and positive behaviour frameworks
Coach teachers in proactive behaviour strategies and high‑impact classroom practice
Lead restorative meetings, re‑entry processes and safety planning
Contribute to behaviour support plans, risk assessments and personalised learning plans
Work closely with teachers, youth workers, allied health and leadership teams
Liaise with external agencies—mental health, youth justice, child safety, disability services
Build strong partnerships with families and support them to access services
Use data to identify needs, track progress and guide interventions
Deliver targeted wellbeing or engagement lessons and provide in‑class support
QLD teacher registration (full or provisional, with eligibility for full)
3+ years’ experience in Special Assistance Schools or alternative education settings
Strong background in supporting students with high‑level needs, behavioural challenges or complex barriers
Experience in wellbeing, counselling, youth work or behaviour support (highly regarded)
Commitment to ongoing learning in wellbeing, engagement and trauma‑informed practice
Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.
Generous Paid Parental leave for primary (12 weeks) & secondary carers, Purchased Leave Scheme (up to 8 weeks) and 5 days paid leave per year to experience working in other TSA programs or activities.
